Food in Bali is affordable and tasty, so it is definitely worth trying warungs (local restaurants). The main dishes you will see on the menu is:

It is generally not “very” spicy, but you will always find some chili on the side with a black sauce. It is called ketchup manis. Food in Bali and Indonesian food in general is very convenient for vegetarian or vegan people, because you can find tofu and tempeh in any restaurant.

For dessert, ask “kue” , Balinese cakes. They are made with coconut, palm sugar, pandang (a green leave that gives a special taste) and rice flour. Balinese cakes come in many shapes and colours, they are delicious and unique. Also, try some delicious smoothie made with fresh fruit!
